Motion on a Raspberry Pi with a USB camera

to test

motion -n stand alone mode

to run in deamon mode

motion -b run in daemon mode

root@raspberrypi:/var/log/motion# motion -b

Config you may wanto change

• check your video device

videodevice /dev/video1

• set your movie quality

movie_quality 85

• allow network access to webcontrol

webcontrol_localhost off

• allow network access to stream

stream_localhost off

• Change camera text

text_left BC_CAMERA1

 Checking it's working

connect to your browser via port 8080
